Scooby Doo-Inspired Birthday Party

Do you remember Scooby Doo? Lara submitted this fabulous nod to a famous "vintage" cartoon series she used as the theme for her child's birthday party. We LOVE the details (like the mod flower cookies), and think you will too!

Lara looked to the "Mystery Van" for inspiration, and based her color-scheme and design off of it (*great idea*). She selected orange, turquoise and green, creating a bright cheerful vibe.

Check out these super invitations:

And Lara went ahead and created her own posters, which match her color-scheme perfectly, don't you think?

One in orange...

One in green...

...and one in blue!

Loving the lanterns, festive and bright.

The retro-style flower cookies (inspired by the Mystery Van of course!) are Groooovy! We love them.

Doggie bags to take home treats--great idea!

For tableware, check out the custom labels used to spice up paper plates and plastic cups!

The food table reinforced her color scheme, and one of our FAVORITE parts are the names of the food, such as "Daphne Dip" and "Velma Gum"!

The kids enjoyed playing mystery games, solving puzzles with clues...what a GREAT party for an 8 year old boy! Great job Lara, you are *incredibly* creative, and inspiring!

Many thanks to Lara for submitting her super fab party to us. We hope you find it inspiring for your next groovy gathering! Looking for more details? Hop over to Lara's blog here.

  1. So CUTE!!!! I am planning a (not so theme-y) Dora Fiesta for my daughter's 2nd birthday this month! Character parties can still be fun and chic, right?! Great job!
